Media library
A tour operator runs on pictures. Tourbox keeps all of them in one library that your team, your website, the itinerary and the traveller's portal all read from, and does the tidying that nobody has time for.

Search by what is in the picture
Type what you are after, a beach at dusk or a tuk-tuk in the rain, and the library finds it whether or not anyone named the file that way. Pick a photo and find the ones like it. Tags, places, dates and sizes narrow the results.
Alt text and captions, written for you
Every upload gets a description you can edit, so the portal, the PDF and your website always describe the picture for search engines and screen readers, and the search has something to read.
Focal point and autocrop
Mark what matters in a photo once and every size, from a thumbnail to a full-width hero, is cropped around it. No more faces sliced off on a phone.
Upscale, retouch and variations
A small original is sharpened up when a larger size is needed, so an old photo still fills a screen. Retouch an image, remove something from it, or ask for a variation without leaving the library.
Video, hosted by us
Upload a clip and it is prepared for playback and hosted by us in the EU, with a still for the cover, ready for the portal and your site. No YouTube or Vimeo account needed.
Your own web address
Photos and documents can carry a web address you own instead of ours, and copies of every size are kept close to the viewer so pages load fast wherever the traveller is.
Bulk upload, tidied on the way in
Drop whole folders in. Tags and places are suggested from the folder and file names, duplicates are caught before they land, and the batch can be tagged in one go.
Questions about the media library
Can I use the media library on its own, without the rest of Tourbox?
Yes. Some operators start with the library and the WordPress plugin, which adds a Tourbox tab to the WordPress media window so your site picks images straight from it, with the same search and the crop editor. The rest of Tourbox is there when you want it, on the same plan.
How does search by meaning work?
Each image and each description is turned into a summary of what it shows, on a provider that keeps data in the EU, and a search compares your words against those. It finds a sunset over water whether the file is called IMG_4021 or beach-evening. The same works the other way round, picking a photo and asking for similar ones.
What happens to a photo I upload in portrait from my phone?
Tourbox reads the orientation from the file and stores the image the way you saw it, so it is never served sideways. The focal point and crops you set stay in the same place at every size.
Where are my files stored?
In EU data centres, with copies of every size kept close to the viewer. Video is prepared on our own EU servers, so no outside video company is involved. Every provider we use is listed on the sub-processor page.
Can photos carry my own web address?
Yes. Confirm a web address you own and public photos and documents are delivered under it instead of ours. Your website, the portal and the PDFs all pick the new host up.
